![]() ![]() There are no real fillers on this record, but there is also not the single Wow! song that stands out. The album is very consistent in musical style and also in quality. It did sound amazing in 1995 and it still sounds great in 2014. Since then I have revisited a couple of times and I think it did age really well. When looking at the CD collection for an album to present this one immediately came to my mind. I must admit that I didn’t listen to this record as a whole in quite a couple of years. Following up is a short promotional clip released by Century Media: The album has also been recorded live and released as “Paradise Lost MMXI”. There is a remastered version available that comes with additional tracks recorded live 1995 in Germany (probably Bizarre Festival). Not long after that I did watch a live show of the band on the german TV-show Rockpalast ( recorded 1995 at the Bizarre Festival, Cologne). I think I bought “Draconian Times” as it was released back in 1995. “Draconian Times” was recorded by the following musicians: Nick Holmes - Vocals With their sixth release Paradise Lost even added synth-pop elements. The songs on “Draconian Times” are dark but also smooth, the death metal “growl” vocals have almost completely vanished and overall the production of the album is very good. By many it is considerd their best and most successful album.ĭuring the first five releases Paradise Lost moved gradually away from the rough death metal sound the band started with. Paradise Lost is a british heavy metal band formed in the late 1980s as a death metal band, that quickly began to experiment with different musical influences. ![]()
